-Wa- Izakaya Themed Pub Night

Event Introduction

On March 11, 2011, Japan was hit by one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded. The magnitude-9.0 quake spawned a deadly tsunami that slammed into the small island nation, leaving a huge swath of devastation in its wake. Thousands of people are dead and many more are still missing or injured; almost half a million people are homeless.
It has been a month after the Japan Earthquake but we want to let everyone know: We never forget Japan!

On the other side of the world in the beautiful British Columbia, a group of Simon Fraser University students from International Student Group, and Japanese Network, decided to organize a meaningful schoolwide pub night event to fundraise for Japan in their after-disaster recovery.
We want to let people know:

"Attending this event would not only enrich your university experience, but also help others on the other side of the world."

"A sense of unity does exist at Simon Fraser University. The purpose is to help everyone in the community."
